Definitions
Lymphocytes- Type of white blood cell in the vertebrate immune system
Platelets- A type of blood cell formed in the bone marrow that helps prevent bleeding by causing blood clots to form.
White Blood Cell- one of the cells the body makes to fight infections.
Red Blood Cell- The blood cell that carries oxygen.
Interleukins- A substance extracted from white blood cells that stimulates their activity against infection and may be used to combat some forms of cancer
Monoclonal Antibodies- Any of the highly specific antibodies produced in large quantity by the clones of a single hybrid cell formed in the laboratory by the fusion of a B cell with a tumor cell.
Splenectomy- An operation to remove a spleen.
